Season’s Greetings
Christmas means different things to different people. For us at the West Indian Social Club of Hartford (WISC), we would like to continue the spirit of Thanksgiving throughout the holiday season and reflect on how grateful we are for where we are today.
It has been a tough year but we are proud of what we have been able to accomplish together. Some organizations have not been able to do what we have done. So thanks to you, our members, families, friends, patrons, community leaders, sister organizations, and all of the residents in the Greater Hartford community who have supported us all year.
With your support, we will be going into the New Year with strength to build on our accomplishments and to continue the work that has begun towards our vision and mission. Let us celebrate the wonderful gift that has been given to us. You are invited to participate in our Christmas party planned for Saturday, December 12, 2015.
While you celebrate the joys of Christmas, take time to say “ I love you” to your love ones because life is so previous. Also, as you go through the season, reflect on the Christmas Poem ( author unknown)
Christmas
Every time a hand reaches out
To help another….that is Christmas
Every time someone puts anger aside
And strives for understanding
That is Christmas
Every time people forget their differences
And realize their love for each other
That is Christmas
May this Christmas bring us
Closer to the spirit of human understanding
Closer to the blessing of peace!
