West Indian Social Club’s (WISC) cricket team cruised to an easy victory in their match against the Jamaica Progressive League (JPL) in the Joshua Guthrie Super 40 League which was played on the No. 2 field at Keney Park on Sunday, June 13.

Winning the toss WISC decided to bat first and led by aggressive knocks from their early batsmen, piled up a huge score of 258 for six wickets when their time at the crease was concluded. Leading the scoring were Carta Wong 58, Jamarson Aurelien 57, Jonathan Bonner 50, Omar Raynor 22 and Nickel Hay 18.

The leading wicket taker for JPL was Gary Pink with two for 53. Four other bowlers Dean Mills, Roy Edwards, Kenque Williams and Shawn Christian took one wicket each.

JPL did not fear well at the wicket as they were bundled out for just 81. Only three of their batsmen were able to score in double figures: Gary Pink top scored with 22 while Ramish Wilson with 16 and Kenque Williams with 14 were the only other batsmen to score in double figures.

The wicket takers for West Indian Club were Omar Raynor 6 for 31 and Hensley Wilshaw 2 for 25.
