Hartford, CT – The West Indian Social Club of Hartford (WISCOH) and the broader Caribbean Hartford community are closely monitoring Hurricane Melissa and its potential impact across the Caribbean region.
“Our hearts and prayers are with our families, friends, and loved ones in the Caribbean as Hurricane Melissa approaches,” said Beverly Redd, President of the West Indian Social Club. “We know how devastating these storms can be, and we are keeping a watchful eye as the situation develops.”
With the hurricane’s landfall predicted for Monday or Tuesday, the full extent of its impact will not be known until Wednesday. Considering this uncertainty, the West Indian Social Club will host a Community Meeting on Wednesday, October 29, at 7:00 PM at the West Indian Social Club, located at 3340 Main Street, Harford, CT, to discuss updates, relief coordination, and ways the local community can support affected areas.
All members of the public, community organizations, and partners are encouraged to attend.
For updates and additional information, please follow the West Indian Social Club on social media or visit website at westindiansocialclub.org.
UPDATE: Meeting will be hybrid and zoom link will be posted on our website & social media.
