ENVIRONMONAL JUSTICE HACKATHON

Design a strategy to raise awareness about indoor air quality.

Upward Hartford, in partnership with the City of Hartford Department of Health & Human Services, is calling thinkers of all kinds to join a free 24-hour hackathon from Saturday, February 11, 2023 @ 6PM  through Sunday, February 12, 2023 @ 6PM

Clean air is essential to health. Yet nearly half of Americans are still breathing unhealthy air. Communities of color and low-income communities are 1.5 times more likely to live in an area with poor air quality and suffer the effects including a range of serious health problems.

We are bringing together passionate members of the community (like you!) to develop strategies and solutions on how to raise awareness about the importance of indoor air quality in homes, schools and public transportation.

Teams will compete for their spot in the final three and a cash prize of $1,000 each. In addition, winning ideas will be rolled out and piloted in Hartford.
