Join Us in Celebrating 75 Years of Community Impact

Dear Friend:

This year marks the Diamond Anniversary of the West Indian Social Club of Hartford, Inc., 75 years in which the organization has served as a cultural center of educational, entertainment, and serves as a migrant resource of the West Indian and Caribbean-American culture. Since 1950 our mission to preserve the cultural heritage, and to promote economic development in West Indian and Caribbean-American communities, both at home and abroad has not changed.

Over the years we have experienced many ups and downs but mainly ups. Many people of various backgrounds and ethnicity have walked through our doors. A great number of people have given their time, energy, sweat and donations. To this end, we are truly grateful. Working with the community has always been our focus and remain our number one priority. But we can’t do this alone. We must do this together.

The organization is transforming its programming to address the growing demands of the community such as community-based archiving, oral histories, K-12 outreach, youth development, curriculum development, economic development initiatives, and affordable housing.

We are writing to invite you to become a partner for our $75 for 75 years Campaign Fund Drive. Your gift, together with those of other organizations and members will ensure that the West Indian Social Club of Hartford, Inc. continues its mission to preserve and to protect the legacy that has been entrusted to us. Your contribution of $75 or more will have immeasurable impact on our continued growth and viability.
