Blazing Quasars and Blazing Trails: A Journey of Discovery

“The Women in Science initiative at the Connecticut Science Center encourages girls and young women to pursue studies and career paths in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and celebrates the achievements of women in the sciences.  The initiative seeks to bridge the gender gap in STEM by developing original programming to engage girls in science and to build the community of women in the sciences.”

Jedidah Isler is the first black woman to earn a PhD in astronomy from Yale University (just last year). She earned an undergraduate degree from Norfolk State University and master’s degree from Fisk University – http://yaleafam45.squarespace.com/bios/
