Garvey movement in celebration of Black HistoryDermoth Brown, (left) Chairman of the Board for the International Foundation for the Exoneration of Marcus Garvey CT, Inc., (IFEMMG Ct)presents Garvey portrait (Artist: Dean Rhoden) to Jamaican and UCLA Professor Dr. Robert Hill following the professor’s keynote address at Eastern Connecticut State University on February 24, 2016. Dr. Hill is a Garvey scholar and was on hand to discuss the Garvey movement in celebration of Black History month at the university. It was a remarkable presentation and Dr. Hill described the evolution of the movement and how the movement changed from a West Indian movement into an African American movement. Marcus Mosiah Garvey is Jamaica’s first National Hero and the grandfather of the World’s Civil Rights Movement.
